About Troedyrhiw

Troedyrhiw Holiday Cottages are situated in West Wales, about five miles from the quaint town of Cardigan. The Cottages nestle in a valley about one mile off the main A487 Cardigan to Aberaeron road, and just a short journey from the Pembrokeshire National Park.

The 5 star self catering accommodation is part of a 13 acre smallholding hidden in the picturesque wooded valley of the Nant Arberth and is an ideal place to “get away from it all” with some beautiful walks literally just outside your door.

There is an abundance of wildlife, badgers by night, a heron fishes in the river most days and buzzards soar overhead. We have even managed to notch up a few sightings of the very shy Mr Otter lately too! You don’t even need to get in the car to find loads to explore within the woodlands and open spaces to picnic and barbecue.

The Cottages sit side by side around a private and attractive courtyard and were the original stone farm buildings, which have been carefully converted to retain as much of the original character as possible with exposed stone walls and beams.

Our cottages are inspected regularly by Visit Wales and have been graded full marks! All of the cottages are 5 stars. Troedyrhiw Holiday Cottages is an ideal location for exploring this beautiful part of west Wales with its unspoilt coastline of Cardigan Bay, and glorious sandy beaches, picturesque bays and coves.

About Us

Around ten years ago, we took over Troedyrhiw Holiday Cottages from Rob’s Mum and Dad, who can take all the credit for the sympathetic conversion of the former derelict farm buildings, a labour of love which lasted four years and which was completed in 1998, although, as we are quickly learning, it is a labour of love which is never done, and we are constantly updating and upgrading.

Taking over Troedyrhiw was a big change and a very steep learning curve for us both, coming from Local Government and retail backgrounds. We are assisted by our little girl, Chloe, who likes nothing better than “cleaning” the cottages (which usually involves her watching cBeebies while supervising our work!).
