1 Night of Shakespeare; 100 Theatres; 400 Schools; 10000 Performers

Theatr Mwldan and four local schools are part of a unique event across the UK. 400 Schools will perform abridged Shakespeare plays simultaneously in 100 theatres. Ten years ago, 12 of Shakespeare's most popular plays were abridged and animated for the award winning series: Shakespeare, The Animated Tales. Now, using these abridged scripts, teachers and pupils have the opportunity to produce and direct their own interpretations of one of these 12 plays, as part of a one-off UK event with the BBC and the Shakespeare Schools Festival. - 5th July 2005

The towering comic classic Gulliver's Travels. A fresh-faced young physician, Lemuel Gulliver, signs up as a ship's doctor and embarks on four extraordinary voyages. By the time he returns home, Gulliver has had enough thrown at him (sometimes literally!) to make him a very different person. A limited amount of seating for these performances will be available on the night - please bring your own low-backed seating or rug, warm clothes and a picnic if you wish. Performances continue in all but the very worst weather. Tickets are non-refundable. Car parking is available near the castle - please follow the signs. Level access to performance site.
